Coming up next: August into September
August started off strong with Chris Siemer headlining the Sunday Showcase over at the Alley Cat Front Room. Jim Leugers closed out the show the following weekend, bringing to light the real trouble with Fox News. On the third Sunday, the Alley Cat Lounge Front Room had the Boobs on Parade Tour parade around the stage. If you didn't get a chance to hear the theme song our own Sam Griswold made, I urge you to give it a listen now: Link. Cincinnati comedian Vincent Holiday rounded out the list local comedians the Sunday after that. Dave Stone rolled through town for the last Friday of August, bringing with him comedian James Austin Johnson. Dwight Simmons stopped in before recording his album at Morty's Comey Joint.
Though the van James and Dave were traveling in got into an accident, it didn't dampen their humor. Both James and Dave had the audience riveted. James gave the crowd a taste of his unique impressions as well as a hysterically honest window into the single life.
Dave regaled us with tales from living in his van before cracking jokes about growing up in Georgia. Finally, Cincinatti comedian Gabe Kea came to the Alley Cat Lounge Front Room. Los Angeles-based comedian Ashley Craib stopped in to perform that evening.
September is a special month for Rocketship Comedy. Things that have been bubbling and brewing over the past couple of months are finally coming to fruition. Starting on August 14th, Rocketship Comedy will have an open mic night over at Shoefly Public House in downtown Indianapolis. To stay up to date with what's going on with the Monday Show, please like the Facebook page for it: The Monday Show. The weekly show will be run by Jordan Mather-Licht and Alex Prichodko.
September is also jam packed shows. Wayne Memmott started things off over at the Alley Cat Lounge Front Room. This coming Sunday, we not only have one but two shows. At 4:00 PM, after the Indianapolis Colts play the Buffalo Bills, Late Late Breakfast will start at Flat 12 Bierwerks. It is a 21+ show and we are encouraging $5 donations at the door. Afterwards, Patrick Keane will be closing out the show at the Alley Cat Lounge Front Room. As always, that show will begin at 8:00 PM. The following weekend, comedian Sumukh Torgalkar from Columbus, OH will be rolling into town to headline the Sunday Showcase. On the last Friday of September, we have a special show at Flat 12 Bierwerks. Not Your Mother's Girls Night Out is a comedy show with an all-female lineup. Girls Pint Out Indianapolis will be there and you should be there, too. The last show of the month with be David Heti bringing his unique stand up act to the Alley Cat Lounge Front Room.
We are excited to start the fall season off with so much great comedy. Come out and have a laugh on us.
